Trying Different Things

Welcome to February friends, I hope it has found you well.

Just at the name implies, I’m trying something a bit different this time. No picture, no clever title. Just a blog post. We’ll see how it goes, but I suspect I might do this a bit more frequently going forward.

Today is 2/3/2021, and as of a couple of weeks ago, my revised manuscript for Eyes in the Dark is in the hands of publishers and agents. I am eagerly awaiting responses that may take several months to arrive.

So what’s an author going to do with his time until such responses arrive? For one, I am reading a bit more. I’ve already completed one book this year which is ahead of schedule for me.

Of course I am also continuing to write my next novel. Seeing as it is a Fantasy novel, my word count will need to be 30,000 or so higher than that of my first book. That’s a pretty daunting hill to climb, but I have new tools in my arsenal now, and I’m excited to be writing a new book, with new rules, new characters, and lots of other ‘new’ things.

I’m also actively looking for critique partners that may want to swap stories with me so that we can give each other feedback.

Something else I’ll be on the look out for is Alpha and Beta readers for my Fantasy book, so if you are interested in doing either (Critiquing or Reading) let me know in the comments, or come by and see me on Twitter so we can set something up!

Until we read again, stay beautiful humans!
